Frequently asked questions

A link to one individual post — the kind that contains /status/ followed by a long number. Both x.com and twitter.com work, with or without www, and tracking parameters after the question mark are ignored.

That message appears when the link points at something other than a single post: a profile, a search, a list or the explore page. Open the post itself and copy its link from there.

Not in one action. Process them one at a time — each lookup takes a couple of seconds.

Yes, and it is built mobile-first. The only platform quirk worth knowing is that Safari on iOS saves files to the Files app rather than straight to Photos; our iPhone guide covers the extra step.

There is a per-visitor request limit so the service stays responsive, set well above ordinary use. If you reach it, the wait is about a minute.

The resolutions are generated at upload time from the file the uploader supplied. If the source was 720p, no 1080p version exists — and we will not upscale one, because that adds size without adding detail.

No. Video on X is already MP4 with H.264 and AAC, so we hand you that file unchanged. Re-encoding could only make it worse.

M4A is the audio stream copied straight out of the video, so it is the better-sounding option. MP3 goes through one additional encode and exists for older hardware that will not play M4A.

Because that is genuinely what they are. Animated GIFs are converted to silent looping video when uploaded. A real .gif is offered alongside it for destinations that only accept images.

Yes — the original as uploaded, rather than the cropped and downscaled copy the timeline displays.

No. Posts from protected accounts are not publicly readable, so there is nothing for us to fetch. This tool does not attempt to bypass that, and it will tell you plainly rather than fail quietly.

No. Once a post is removed, its media is no longer served and nothing can bring it back.

The post has nothing attached that can be saved — text posts, polls and link previews all fall into that category. An image inside a link preview belongs to the linked website, not the post.

They need a signed-in, age-verified session, which this tool deliberately does not have.

A normalized copy of the link is kept briefly so repeat lookups are fast, then removed automatically. We do not store your IP address in readable form and we do not set tracking cookies. The privacy policy states exactly what is retained and for how long.

No. There is nothing to sign up for, which also means there is no profile or history attached to you.

It depends on the content, where you are and what you do next. Saving something for your own use is treated very differently from republishing it or using it commercially. We cannot advise on your particular situation — the terms set out the responsibilities that sit with you.

No. SSSTwitter.site is an independent third-party service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to X Corp. or Twitter. We reference those names only to describe which links the tool accepts.
